"In Big Sur, where the mountains of California’s central coast sweep down to the ocean, there is a narrow, winding road that leads through dense trees to a parking lot. From here, a short trail leads through a tunnel of aged cypresses. As it turns towards the beach, a remarkable island of rock comes into view, framed by the sheltered waters of a small bay. In the winter months, the setting sun famously shines through an opening in the rock, that channels crashing waves between walls of stone." - Simon Bull
