Bekah Bull is an artist with a remarkable sensitivity. Her work captures the nuances of tonal values and movement through the use of texture and line.

Growing up in an artistic family, Bekah absorbed the rhythm and flow of the creative life while learning alongside her father, Simon Bull. Her artistic and visual education continued at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, during a time when digital photography cautiously surpassed traditional film. In the early days of her career she was a fashion buyer for leading designer boutiques in California.

During this time, she embarked on a solo photographic expedition that took her on a global odyssey. Traveling by train through India, flying over Everest, and living in Shanghai for five years, she gained invaluable experiences that influence her art to this day.

Bekah's understanding of diverse cultures is reflected in her mixed media paintings, which feature thick, granular layers of paint and translucent films of color. She employs a wide range of media, including spray paint, fluid acrylics, spackle and acetone. Her art vacillates between energetic neon colors and softer earth tones, always portraying a romantic, optimistic view of the world. Painting outdoors from her deck, she continues to explore her artistic vision against the backdrop of Carmel's artsy picturesque downtown.
