"Naming paintings has always been important to me. I could have called this "Red Flowers in a Vase" or something like "Floral XCVII". Instead, I called it "Permission Granted". Does it make a difference? Yes! Just like we don't name our children "One", "Two" or "Three", it's the same with my artistic offspring. I often find out later that the title was the trigger for someone to access deeper, more personal meaning in a painting. Perhaps that someone is you and you need to give yourself permission for something you always wanted. Go on, treat yourself!" - Simon Bull
